When was this episode aired? There was only 12 shows I believed aired in the DVD set?
The Bester episode of Crusade is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Specially the guest appearance right at the end Garibaldi was to play...
Crusade was just getting good!! Plus, we'll never know if Gideon is dead or not!!

There are thirteen episodes in the DVD set, all of which aired; those are the only ones that were ever produced. Sadly, the Bester episode was never filmed; the show was cancelled before that could happen.

About Gideon: some have mentioned in other forums that the DVD comments and/or extras have something to say about the Gideon situation (and the apocalypse box too).
I need to buy that DVD set!

Thanks for the intel. I really liked the show and I was a big fan of B5 too. Just sucks knowing the show is gone.
I emailed Jerry Doyle at his website and ask if he would be in the new B5 Movie and he replied he was unsure if the original cast would be recasted.
Anyone hear anything?
Thanks

Is there any continuing scripts or virtual episodes for Crusade anyone might know of.

Do you know of the location of any scripts that were made for Crusade but not aired? Just thought I would ask if there was a chance out in cyber space to get my hands on some new stuff.
I have searched the web for virtual seasons or more info on the series but I suck!

After the original website went out of business some years ago, not officially. JMS frowns on their continuing distribution, though there are still some places where you can find "To the Ends of the Earth", "End of the Line", and "Value Judgments" online with a little looking.

I used to have the three scripts on my Computer but since I had to do a format I've lost them. I've still got all three printed out but there's nothing on this Earth you can offer me to type the entire thing out again/scan it page by page.
As for Gideon's fate I finally had my question answered by JMS himself! :D
On JMS' commentary for the Episode on the DVD boxset: "Racing the Night" he mentions that the assassination attempt at Gideon at the conclusion of Crusade's first season would've killed the Captain. At which point the Captain's consciousness would've merged with that of the Apocolypse Box...
Whether the Captain would've eventually returned wasn't truely made clear but though I finally have an answer... it just asks more questions!!!

For God's sake, man, use the spoiler tags! Admittedly, it probably wouldn't bother me as much if I didn't just get the DVDs today for Christmas, but, yeesh.

Well that just sucks!!!!! So much for the future of hope in the Crusade living on.. The Captain of all people!
The evil.
Merry Christmas everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wondering if anyone has heard more news in regards to the B5 Movie? Does ANYONE think Crusade story lines might make it in the move too?

After reading the update for the B5 movie does any one think they might start the series back up?
croxis
30 December 2004, 02:04 PM
They wont start the series back up, it was made for a 5 year run. Crusade is a dead end (jms said so himself) but I hope maybe another series can come along. Sci-Fi and fanticy tv shows are becoming popular again with Joan of Arcadia, Lost, and IIRC Enterprise ratings were climbing as well. Lost and Desperate Housewive are very arc based and are doing well, so TVland may be ready for a 5 year B5 spinoff series.

Well It sure would be nice to see something come out of this as I'm not a big fan of the desperate house wife show. hehehe
I just think it would also be cool if they brought back some of the original cast. Only the great maker will let us know. hehhe

Anything new on the front line in regards to B5?
Here is one more question? Was there an opening series Crusade movie or did the series just start as a series would.

"A Call to Arms" was basically a telemovie pilot for Crusade.

Despite it only featuring two of the Crusade characters. (Not counting the cameo made by Doc Chambers as a different character).
But Call to Arms essentially, rather than being a pilot for Crusade, bridges the gap between B5 and Crusade. A passing of the touch in a sense.
"Warzone", the first episode of Crusade was more of a traditional pilot.

Traditional or not, I tend to believe that Racing the Night was a much better one. The opening dream sequence alone pretty much blew the overly expository Warzone out of the water. Also, contrary to how one would expect when compared to "action" episode, the space battle in "Racing" actually had some kind of excitement (when I was watching Warzone, in fact, I was doing something else on the computer, and hadn't even noticed a space battle started before it was half over). Adding all the Babylon 5 references in "Racing", it really puts Warzone to shame. All in all, after watching the whole series instead of just the two episodes I'd previously seen, I've revised my opinion. I used to think that by working "To The Ends of the Earth" into the order, it was possible to resolve all of the difficulties of Crusade continuity, without losing the uniform plot. Now, I say uniform changes be damned! The JMS order, all the way.

A bit off topicish. How well are the new Sci-fi/fantasy series going over in the States?
We have just got Joan of Arcadia starting here in Australia but it is in the non-ratings season. If these are starting to do well in the States hopefully more series will start here (all we have are reality TV shows now  ). Jeremiah started but I think may have been pulled off air already.

Lost is kinda scifi ish, but not really. Its the only one I can think of off the top of my head that is really pulling in mainstream crowds.

There is nothing out here in Canada to watch really unless you are a big fan of Star Gate SG1. After B5 and Crusade ended our last hope was Farscape and we were robbed of that too.
TV Land has walked away from it's fans:(

Not sure when you guys in the U.S. or Canada are getting it but I'm in the U.K. and we've been treated to almost all of the new Battlestar Galactica's First Season and that rocks!! I won't go into too much detail but it essentially says "Ok, what if Sci-Fi were real" and films that. Very cool stuff :D ;)
I agree "Racing the Night" was a much better Pilot. Warzone sucked, and was just JMS giving TNT what they wanted.

I'm so jealous of you guys in the UK. All the best Sci Fi is out there first. All we get first in Canada is reality tv. Sucks to be us.
The Great Maker does not LIKE us in Canada!

The Crusade to the UK would end in less then thirteen days of pay. hehehe.

You're in Vancouver so you are where they make both Stargate shows and Battlestar Galactica!! What more could you want!
Ron B
9 January 2005, 04:37 PM
Just because I live in Vancouver where they film the shows doesn't mean we get to see it first. The neat thing about Canada is we sell everything to foreign countries first after filming for dirt cheep, then we buy it back at seventeen times the price. Then Toronto views it first, then 3 three years later Toronto sends it to Vancouver for guys like me to rent or watch if you have satellite. So where in this can you say we are lucky. hehehehe
Crusade never even aired in Vancouver or on shaw cable.
But we have a great selection of Canadian beer!

As you wanted to be in the U.K. because the new B5 movie is being filmed here I assumed you knew how to see something whilst in production, IE: You in Vancouver where they make a load of good Sci-Fi shows.

9 January 2005, 05:26 PM
Sci Fi has taken a back seat to reality tv out here.
So this is why us Vancouverites crave entertainment in new locations. You see Battle Star Galatica is being filmed in Vancouver and Aired through the space channel in Toronto? Does this make any sense? We have several local channels.
If you view Amazon.ca you will see Amazon.uk recieves everyhitng first even if it's filmed here in Vancouver BC.

But until the new B5 movie comes out it will have to do. hehehe
