The coming of raiders - Buda5:Raiders campaign released!

Over one year in the making.

Buda 5 is pleased to announce the release of Buda5:Raiders - a campaign set in the Babylon 5 universe, for the game Independence War.

The campaign features:
-Strong character and story based plot.
-24 challenging, thought provoking missions.
-90 minutes of spoken dialogue by professional actors and talented amateurs
-Over 50 custom ship and station models (many previously unreleased by Buda5)
-In game music and sound effects.
-Custom rendered CGI cutscenes and briefings.
-multiple difficulty options

The campaign works with Independence War and Independence War-Defiance in both software and hardware 3Dfx graphics modes, however Defiance with a 3Dfx Voodoo graphics card is the recommended platform.

The campaign is available in a two part download (50 meg each):

Part two - raiders2.zip (http://mods.firstones.com/buda5/missions/raiders2.zip)

Both parts MUST be downloaded and installed before the campaign may be played.
Please read the important installation and gameplay instructions in the README1ST.TXT file included before installing.

Is this as hard to install as the first one? I mean, i got it once. But thats it. I have been trying to install it again for some time now. By the book, you could say. I follow the instructions to the exact, and what do i get? NOT WORKING. blaah...Maybe it works only if you install it into c:\ but i dont want to. D:\ is for games C:\ is for stuff like icq, mirc, *cough*windows 98*cough*...and E:\ of course is for those nice pics what you find from the internet...

OK, I think it is time I get I-War. I've been meaning to for years now, but the lack of 3D acceleration has been putting me off. Of course, now that NVIDIA owns 3DFX's tech I'm hoping for a glide wrapper...

W000T! I think i'll start downloading those right away. Most likely the reason i couldnt get the first one working again was because of the little sleep i have been able to get in the past 3 months.


btw...i'm really, really, really sorry i wasnt able to get the voice thing i was supposed to...It would have sucked anyway, so it's better this way. Me not doing it. :P

Ya'll did a hell of a job.The installation went in like clockwork,not a hitch.It does take awhile, though,it is a big file.

It plays just like IWar.

Sniff... Sniff... My copy of IWar doesn't support my GForce 2 GTS card. I have to run it in window mode.

Does anybody know how to get it to play full screen?

Have you turned your Control Panel acceleration slider all the way down?

I have a GeForce card also. The slider thing stopped working on mine when I updated detonators. However there is an alternative...You should be able to run full screen by running 'program files\DirectX\DXDiag.exe' and disabling DirectDraw Acceleration under the 'Display' Tab. I find that works best as you don't need to restart the computer to disable/enable DirectDraw. I made a shortcut to DXDiag on my desktop to make it easier!

i've got no probs with my geforce 2 and the normal i-war...though, i do have voodoo 2 also. Bought it for about 15 dollars.

BTW, I've spotted copies of IWar Deluxe in the bargin bin in several different Software Etc. stores up around here. (Minneapolis...) It's only about $10...

Personally, I'm waiting for the Edge of Chaos (IWar 2)... full DX8a accclerated graphics, some nice cutscenes, and some awesome gameplay. Check out the demo if your system can handle it and you don't mind a 100MB download. (Thank Valen for my nice fat dual-T1s!)

Oh I'm waiting for that one to, but I still want I-War 1. Besides, after playing that demo I think I-War 2 isn't going to be quite as good as the original, despite its prettier graphics.

SWEET ASS SWEET, i just got a copy of I-war deluxe off e-bay for $8.00 (+ 3.00 for 3&H) There are more copies there if anyone is interested.

For those that don't know: The Minbari War has had a installer program for quite a while now. Installing it is very easy now.
