According to a slashdot article (http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/06/21/171255), JMS and Dark Skies creator Bryce Zabel have come up with a way to turn Star Trek into "a hell of a show".

So? He came up with a pitch. Pitches are a dime a dozen. Now, if Paramount actually provides some indication of listening to the pitch, and accepting it, that'd be news.
So, taking bets: Who thinks JMS is regretting mentioning that pitch, given the unnecessary press it seems to be generating? I mean, considering writer Peter David's (http://peterdavid.malibulist.com/archives/000802.html) thoughts on being misrepresented to make a news story, I bet he isn't exactly thrilled.

Meh. So I didn't think about the headline that hard. I didn't get much sleep last night due to other, rather historic events. :) At least I put a question mark on the end rather than making it sound like something he was going to do.

No, but it took something that sure sounded like it (loudest thunder we've had in a while) to wake me up today. :)

Gotta agree with David here; this is non-news, and never should have been posted on /. at all, because the simple act of posting it as a serious news item completely distorts the context.

Whats scary is that on the forums at scifi-meshes I said that they should fire the writers on Enterpirse and hire JMS, a few months ago.

small clarifications from jms:

There's some misinterpretations of what I said going around...so let's address
them.
>Well - the now verified (from the horse's mouth, so to speak) fact
>that JMS WAS approached on the possibility of taking the reins of Star
>Trek: Enterprise (and wisely turned that down - gag, hack, hack)
Nope. I said that Paramount approached me about coming on board as an EP, not
show-runner position. Berman and Braga would still have run the thing. I
didn't feel that I could function best in that arrangement.
As for the treatment Bryce and I wrote for another Trek series, as I said, we
wrote it on our own, NOT as an assignment from Paramount.
Just in the interests of accuracy.
