Wow, this place has changed a lot and not at all since I used to post in the Homeworld forums...

First off, spectacular work with both versions of Buda5; I bought I-War just to play your mod and re-installed EoC recently to play 2.0

Down to busniess: I've read the tutorial on the main EoC page on how to edit ship textures that come with the game, but the Buda5 textures are in a different format and I can't get any modifications to work. All I'm doing is attempting to add wing art to the Aurora Starfury for a more personal touch, but I can't figure it out.

First I'd like to ask if it's okay for me to play with your files, I'm only doing it for myself and won't be releasing my work to anybody else.

Second, can any of you help me out in my endeavour?

Thanks in advance, and I apologise if you don't want me messing with your textures.

as long as you don't pass things around to other people i think it's fine.

to modify textures, the first thing your going to need is a program that can view and/or edit amiga IFF pictures (extensions .iff and .lbm). then you would need to find the texture for the top of the starfury (assuming that's where you want your art to go) amoungst the files, open it, add in your art, and save it in exactly the same dimensions in either .lbm or .iff format. re zip the mod and there u go.

it's not exactly how things are done for mod releases, but if all you want to do is to add in art it will work. the only other way is the way it's textured from our end, meaning u'd have to have the origional model, apply the textures yourself and then convert the objects/files for use in the game.

well no probably not... i made my site quite a while back, and at the time FTP accounts for the main site were scarce (not enough to go around), so it was an easy way for me to post things i had done be4 i contacted someone that could upload them to the site... but since then everyone that needs and FTP account has received one, so there's really no need in maintaining the site... everything is sent to the main site as soon as it's done now.
