hey guys, i mjust curious but do you guys have a earth mimbari war mission pack set out for I-war 2 seeing as the one on I-war was so good. im only asking because you guys have most of the resources from the first allready, eg the voice overs, and you also have more or less all the ships, except the olympus class, orion station, mimbari station and mimbari defence platform.

Welcome here Alpha!

No, currently we don't have such plans b/c the scripting of I-War 2 is completely different so we have to rescript every mission. Though we have all the media files you mentioned it would be much of work and needs much time. We'll maybe focuse on that when we finnished our current plans of releasing a redesigned Mission Pack (based on Christmas Package), Logic's InGame mod and a new campaign.

when do you expect logics ingame mod to be finished

when will your new campaign be completed

oh buy the way, im having some problems with my EOC.

i have recently reinstalled it on to my computer, i have tried to install the patch but the installer says f14 is all ready installed, but my eoc is no version f14. do you guys have any ideas on how i might fix this and get my eoc able to use mods, i want to try out the new primus class, it looks cool.

uninstall ALL instances of EOC on your computer, delete all instances of the patch program. reinstall EOC, redownload and install the patch. let us know if that works, if it doesn't, we can try something else.

If Logics hints don't work (btw you don't need to delete the patch and download it another time), open the Windows registry (enter regedit) and search for F14.6 or Independence War 2, ... and delete all entries of it (but beware, if you're not sure if it's reallly an entry that has to do with Independence War 2 don't delete it!).
Then restart windows.

Looks good besides the graphic card (I would recommend Radeon9500/9600/9700/9800) and that the kind of memory isn't specified. Also the Mainboard chip isn't the best ... I recommend an NForce2 400 chip for AMD processors. The fastest for them.

there are two over packages, what do you think of these

don't spend your money on packages with digi cams or printers, especially if you already have them...... ok yer lucky i do this for a living, so here's a price quote of what i could find online along the lines of what you want:

Abit NF7 Motherboard (Nvidia nForce2 chipset, 400FSB, DDR400)
with Athlon XP 2600+
Onboard Sound
Onboard LAN --- $210.98

Heatsink Fan ---$9.99

56K Modem ---$9.99

case with 400Watt Power supply --- $21.96

2 DDRSDRAM PC3200 (400Mhz) ---$139.92

Samsung 160Gb HDD ---$113.95

Pioneer 4x DVD-R/RW ---$158.00

Generic Floppy ---$9.99

128Mb ATi Radeon 9600 Pro $---127.00

(u should already have an OS, but if you don't)
Windows XP Home Upgrade ---$99.99

TOTAL ---$901.77 (with OS)
TOTAL ---$801.78 (without OS)

saved $150-$250, and got a much better system. Catch, you have to build it yourself. That's not a problem, it's just like a snap together model. websites online have detailed step by step instructions too.

parts in the uk cost alot more, and i have no way of ordering parts from aboad, the digital camera i have is broken(in pieces) and my printer is an epson stylus colour 300. so i need both of them, i have a question, which is better a tft screen
, a flatpanle or a regular big monitor

LogicSequence
13 July 2003, 09:06 PM
depends on how much money your willing to spend. ideally, LCD flat panel... but be careful... don't get with with less than 400:1 contrast ratio, and more than 25ms scan time. alslo, i wouldn't reccomend a 15" LCD. a good 17" LCD will run about $500 (US)... if u can't afford that, i'd do a standard monitor... SONY... don't get any other kind... SONY, trinitron if you can. a good SONY monitor (non LCD) shouldn't be more than $200 (US).

but I also recommend an Iiyama CRT Monitor. They aren't that expensive like Sony and have a very good quality! I have three different Mons from Iiyama (17",17",19" Flat) and I am very happy with them.

I don't trust non-namebrands anymore.

ALso, avoid Daewoo like the plague.

NEC and Sony make good monitors. Since the trinitron patent expired, everyone's been making knockoffs, driving the price down even further (it's fun, because it happened right when LCDs were starting to grow, too!). Just make sure it's got a good power supply.

ALso, I've got more than a few good words for Hitachi.

Hoping you don't mean Iiyama with that comment! :D

I love my Diamondtron UČ-CRT picture tube. Really a good quality. It has a frequency of 132kHz, so high refresh rates are possible at high resolutions.

this is another system, what do you think of this

AMD Athlon XP 3200+
Leadtek Nforce 2 Motherboard

120GB Hard Disk
nVidia FX5900 Graphics card
DVD/RW
DVD-ROM Drive

If you can effort the money for that components, it's quite good ;) .

the parts are expensive but i already have 500 pound in the bank, ten more weeks and i will have 1600 pound, but i think its worth it. with it i get the system, XP, Surround sound wireless mouse and keyboard and the way its designd inside i would never have to worry about it burning out or if i decided to overclock it, its on giant heat sink. plus i wont have to upgrade any systems for at least 18 months

     DON'T get a geforce FX 5900. DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T that would be the biggest mistake you could make. if yer gonna spend the money get an ATi Radeon 9800 Pro. Nvidia RIGGED the 5900 to do better on tests but it actually lacks in performance... in other words they cheated us... it's been all over the news.. at least here in the states. DON'T get Nvidia. (the only thing i'd ever get from them now is the Nforce chipset.. and i don't do AMD do i wouldn't even get that). Nvidia is going downhill fast. ATi is the way to go. and personally, INTEL is the way to go when it comes to my preferences. but that's up to u. JUST DON'T get an Nvidia video card above GeForce 4.

can you get DELL in Great Britain?

Alpha Leader
15 July 2003, 01:02 PM
yeah dell sells computers in the uk, Why?

LogicSequence
15 July 2003, 05:02 PM
GET A DELL THEN. if your going to order a premade computer get a DELL. they may be slightly more expensive but it's worth every penny. i have a dell laptop, haven't had a single problem. in fact i had another dell for about 3 years, and not had ONE propbelm. they're very good computers. build it the way u want it, (something like what i posted would be just fine) and order. it's that easy. and i gaurentee you it'll be better than a "no name" brand. and yes i'm sure people are gonna have bad things to say about dell, but u can find someone that's had a bad experience with anything. Dell is a good brand, that's what i'd do in your case. absolutely 100%.

LogicSequence
17 July 2003, 09:58 PM
which video card is it? it says it's a 256Mb Radeon... well the model number is important... if your getting that kind of machine, it should be 9500pro, 9600pro, 9700pro, or 9800pro... anything else is SUB-Par for that kind of machine. i think the other one had a 9200SE or something??? those are just fancy LOW-ends... the four i listed above are what you want.

For my american friends... that price is $2047 (US)... thats... a little high! u can get things a lot cheaper... trust me, i know what i'm talking about, i do this for a living. Also their giving u a 400Mhz DDR motherboard but only 333Mhz memory??? me thinks something's afoot there.... i'd be weary.

Alpha Leader
18 July 2003, 07:44 AM
im gonna check the video card thing, and anything else i can change my self, eg memory card, my freind has got an Nforce card he doesnt want anymore, it's a good one

LogicSequence
18 July 2003, 09:57 AM
nforce is a chipset on the motherboard... u can't change that out without getting a different motherboard.

Alpha Leader
18 July 2003, 10:55 AM
we have a place in the uk called pc world, ive been told that you can order custom PC's and specify what you want,

could you list me a load of parts that would go together great for a hardcore games machine

LogicSequence
18 July 2003, 11:55 AM
sure. these are all my favorite brands, they should all be international, but if they're not, let me know and i'll offer a substitute.

two options obviously. AMD Athlon or Intel Pentium 4. i am personally a P4 guy, but u might not be. so i'll list both.

Pentium 4:
ASUS P4P800 Motherboard - Intel 865PE Chipset
(800Mhz FSB, Dual DDR-400, HT, AGP8x, LAN, Sound, AI series)

Pentium 4 2.8 - 3.2Ghz with H/T

Athlon:
ASUS A7N8X Motherboard - nVidia nForce2-ST Chipset
(400Mhz FSB, DDR-400, AGP8x, LAN, Sound)

Athlon XP 3000+ (400Mhz)

Both:
1Gb Corsair DDR-400 (PC-3200) RAM (2x512Mb) Cas Latency 2.0
(Corsair XMS series) (Kingston is also a good brand)

120+ Gb Hard drive, brands- IBM, Samsung, Toshiba, Maxtor

DVD 4x R/RW B -R -RW (DON'T GET +R +RW) Brands-SONY, TDK, Plextor, Acer, Pioneer)

ATi Radeon 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800 's PRO

(IF YOU NEED IT) Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum

Case brands- Thermaltake, Lian Li, Enermax, Antec

Power Supply - Thermaltak, Lian Li, Enermax, Antec

Any modem will do

Monitor LCD - Samsung (172N), Sony are recommended.... just don't get anything with less than 400:1 contrast ratio, or 25ms scan time.

thanks, im gonna get a price on those tommorow, thanks for your help Logic, i was in way over my head, ive been struggling with this forthe past 4 years

Pentium 2 Processor MMX 401 MHz

128 MB Ram

4 GB hard drive

64Mb 3d Prophet 4000XT TV Out

I started of with the same except i had a low power sis graphics card and 64 MB ram, the extra ram cost 15 pound and the graphic card i got for 30 pound from my freing, his brother bought it for 90 pound. but when i went to install it for him he found out he had no apg slot, his old card was intergrated. my computer has give me a good run.

also one that my computer tells me my cpu i a pentium 2, but the cpu is labled a Celeron

Sanfam
18 July 2003, 06:12 PM
Those old celerons rock :D

I've got one of my own, running at standard clock, but still running.
