Does anyone still have links to the Franke Game tracks that used to be on liquidaudio? Either they pulled them, or the link in their database got fried.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

-Rick

I have them burned onto a CD, and I could put that into MP3 probably (assuming my computer decides to work right http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/wink.gif )

Or if you wanted to buy them, this address is working for me:

Nah the free demo track is better than the main theme extended.
Now that I have both a credit card and that link at the same time, I think I'll finally buy those tracks.

I think to get them to play after reformatting you need to have a passport registration in Liquid Audio rather than a normal one.

Greven: You can't, except for Battle Theme A, nor should you; show your support by buying the tracks!

I have an MP3 labelled "B5GamePreviewTrack.mp3"; I think I got it off the Sierra site when things were still looking good. Winamp lists its length as 3:29. It fades in at the beginning and fades out at the end, and I didn't recognize it when I listened to the Liquid Audio samples of the tracks they sell. Can anyone verify the origin of the track?

Yep, I can. If I recall correctly, it is the one listed on the site that is free. Either way, it is from the game and was not released on any CD. It is a mix of four different themes actually, which is why it fades in at the beginning and out at the end. It is a great example of how the dynamic music engine would have worked.

I thought this one might be recorded directly from the game; seemed right. And it's definitely not the one marked as free at that site; I've listened to both several times over, and they're quite different.

OK, so I was wrong on that part. It must have been made available by the devs then. However, as far as I know it is not directly recorded from the game. I don't recall them ever doing that (especially given how long we had to wait just for the small clip of live game footage we finally got. http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif)

Game music was indeed done recording, from my visit WAY back when.

Not all of it was done being segmented however.

If any of you read my article about my visit to Sierra a few months prior to their cancellation, you'll read some stuff about the sound technologies they were using.

Although I have not bought any of the latest games in sometime, I have not seen/hear anything that does what the B5 thing did.

My aricle is linked off the main FO.com page.

I knew they had the music system going, but I don't recall them ever mentioning recording directly from the game. I was under the impression that track was spliced together to show what it would sound like (ie, damn ****ing cool and really really really... I'm out of words).

Hehe... shouldn't be spilling those secrets, Jack. http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/biggrin.gif

So everyone who's bought them: What one is your favorite?

My favorite is F. The way it begins is so cool, it is the sort of thing that would fit perfectly with the beginning of a mission where you get launched out of a cobra bay, because of the build up. And the ending is also excellent, one of the few times I've heard an electric guitar in Franke's music, and the effect is incredible. The whole pacing of the track is great to.
Devs: when you release the demo, make the beginning of this track the first thing they hear when they get into the game and get launched!
