couldnt some sort of agreemant be made with sierra, to give us the code, and all the profits made would then go to sierra.
it is a stupid idea, because i know no one gives n e thing away, but if they were GUARANTEED (not easy mind) to get there money for it, maybe they would consider it.
i am sure there is enough expertise here. all of the members could contribute. even if it is just money to hire designers/coders or even for advertising.
any thoughts appreciated.

I doubt very much that Sierra would give the code away, as they do not believe that it will be a successful, better to sell it and get the money, let some one else make a loss, than to risk not making back any money at all.
Also, even if they did give it away, i doubt who ever was developing it would like the idea of all the profit going to sierra, better a percentage, or a fixed sum like a 'buy now pay later' deal.
this is an idea with merit, don't get me wrong, but there is a lot of politics involved, and more thought is required...

The reason they cancelled it was that they (apparently) didnt think it would make a profit. Why try and convince them that it will? Better to get another company to buy the code and get the profits itself.

Well it would seem that the cost of getting the original code and package is the main hurdle in revitalising the development process. Hopefully the new company will be able to convince investors that it is worth their while to put money into the project.

That's kind of like selling my soul to you. Why would I want to?
Wait, how much will you pay for it first?
