oh wow that sounds like....wow! i love his quote to the studio!
if the other movies get the go-ahead and we get the one on the psi-corps, do you think they'll be able to get walter koenig back to play bester? and if they do the one on sheridens son, i wonder if JMS will tie it in to the books of the centauri triology? i think they're considered cannon by him arent they?

I know WOW is the only fitting word...
I would love to see both those stories and don't see any reason why WB wouldn't let him go ahead with those two. They are going to make alot of money from all us B5 fans...
As far as I know the Centauri Trilology is cannon, perhaps someone else could confirm it for sure.

Yay! But boo too many green screens!

All three book trilogy's are canon as far as I know.

They are. JMS wrote the outlines for them himself, and considers them canon.

Croxis...have you seen how common the green screen is these days? It's financially unsound to make an epic set. Compositing makes it possible to expand a small set and fill it with anything we could want. For example...an epic Telepath war.

Or, more likely in this case, that two-story section of the Zocalo we only ever saw in establishing shots.

Well, the Green screen is way better than the plurple screen..

Star Wars ruined green screen compost sets forever.

I'm unsure how Star Wars can ruin compositing. Its CGI is still among the best out there. The sets were top notch.

indeed. dont blame the CGI for the shite story ;)

And was, itself, a composite shot.
B5 used many composite shots and CGI sets to extend the physical sets to the proportions necessary. For example: the baseball ground, gardens, circumference corridors. Given how far technology has progressed since B5 was made, I don't think there's likely to be a problem using more now. Just so long as they don't overdo it the way Star Wars did (Lucas was too lazy to go to a real desert, so he used a CGI one where the sand looked off when it was kicked around).

I've never understood that part about Lucas. Why bother to re-create the wheel each and every time? It's stupid. :P

Just to get the title "I did it first and you didn't."

aye it was probably more expensive than if they'd actually gone to the desert to film it in the first place!

I'm not sure about which movie you're talking, but the Tatooine parts in Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones (+ the small bit at the end of RotS) Were filmed in Tunesia...

I imagine they're talking about Geonosis.

Why NOT to use a REAL desert in Tunesia part 1...
Seriously, has anybody ever watched the Making of SW tapes concerning filming in the Tunesian desert?
:D
I'd vote CGI for some of the same reasons...

OMG OMG!!! Boy am I excited or what!!
Looks like security was tight for the video reel, nothing on YouTube yet. On reading what was shown and the comment on the soundtrack has gotten me all worked up now. Damn it I want to see it!!!! :csmile:
The Bester arc would be really good. I'm sure Waltar would like to come back for that. Something set 10 or so years later he would look the right age.
We all know why the sand was cgi'ed up, sand is all coarse and horrible and would have gotten into Mr Lucas's beard. Wouldn't want that. Hey I think I know where he got inspiration for a line in the film :p
